The mug
The mug is an English word indicating a cylindrical goblet, with handle, used without saucer, very similar to a tankard. In French, the word mug isn’t official, but allowed.
A cup is a small individual container, with a handle, which makes it possible to drink hot or cold drinks.
A coffee cup is a small container with a handle, generally in porcelain, intended to receive a drink, generally coffee. The mug is an object which we use everyday, it is thus more cheerful if we choose ourselves its decoration or if a close person offers it to us with a personal message or a pretty photograph!
Ceramic
The ceramic is the first fire art which appear (before the metallurgy and the work of glass). It indicates the manufactured objects out of terra cotta which underwent an irreversible physicochemical transformation during a cooking at more or less high temperature.
A ceramic material is first solid on ambient temperature and it is neither metallic nor organic. The ceramic’s objects are made by solidification on high temperature of a damp plastic paste or by heated combination of a first compressed dry powder without passing by a liquid phase. These kind of object are called ceramic.
